Hello from the pottery shed!
Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by.
Something I’ve been thinking about more and more, is how import human to human connection and exchange really is. I love knowing who has made the pieces in my home, and that I’m supporting nice people doing good things.
So, a bit about me:
I’m a small-batch potter from Geelong in regional Victoria.
I specialise in timeless functional ceramics. I’m very conscious that ceramics can last for generations, so the focus of my work is to step away from trends and create thoughtful pieces that can be treasured for decades to come. Sustainability is important.
Among my handmade mugs, vases, oil burners, planters and other items, I hope you find something you love here. Every piece is unique, and has been crafted with care.
xx

Why MAFIA Thing?
People often ask why my little ceramics business is called MAFIA Thing.
And I’m well aware it sounds like I might break your knuckles.
MAFIA Thing stands for Made A Feeling Into A Thing.
Something that amazes me about ceramics is that you can sit down at the pottery wheel feeling stressed or frustrated (or all sorts of other things) and the act of making steps you away from those feelings, and leaves you feeling calm.
It’s like taking all your feelings and transforming them into something beautiful.
So I promise I won’t break your knuckles. Instead, I’m crafting pieces that are designed to be a calm breath out for you and your home too.
I hope you love them.
xx
